This is a conversation between a chef and her Boss.

Chef: Ma’am, what would you like to eat?

Boss: Yam would do.

Chef: OK ma’am I’ll get you that, right away

👆(And this is exactly what the chef brings. )

Boss: Oh gosh , are you daft? why would you give me yam?

Chef: Ma’am but you asked for yam .

Boss : You fool!, go get me boiled yam and fried eggs before I unleash my anger on you

Chef: Yes ma’am right away

Welcome to my blog once again . I’m sure you’ve been wondering why I always call you cupcake ,well well well, I’m blessed to have someone as sweet as you , who keeps encouraging me by reading my posts, and I hope this justifies the name cupcake . I bet you are in love with the name now.

Today I’ll be talking about the topic titled ” what exactly do you want ?“. More often than not, we expect our friends, siblings, parents and even strangers to know exactly we want or need at a point in time. Bear it in mind that no one is psychic , obviously 🤷‍♀️.

And Gbam, if that person doesn’t know what you want, your mood starts to deteriorate negatively, but let’s look at this objectively 🤔, you didn’t state expressly what exactly you wanted, so whose fault is that?🤷

Yep, that used to be my habit and it’s a pretty bad habit, yes sometimes I still battle with this bad habit of expecting everyone around me to know what exactly I expect at that point in time.

LOL 😂, I remember my friend making a joke about this habit, and my friend said “the only sport I’m good at is jumping into conclusions “, sincerely , if that was a sport, I would have become a gold medalist.

Well, it ain’t a sport.

This equally applies with our relationship with God, yes, of course he’s the all-knowing God, but he said in the Holy Bible that we should ” Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find…..”. With my little understanding of this popular verse, I believe God wants us to tell him exactly what you want from him. We know he knows our needs. Regardless of this, he doesn’t want to give us something we haven’t asked for and start apportioning blames if things turns out horrid like the story of Adam and Eve which I believe we are conversant with.

Many at times, we think God is somewhat unfair when we don’t see things going the way we like.

But..

Let’s pause and ask ourselves

“Did I even ask God to do exactly this thing for me?” and if the answer is “No”, there’s sincerely no room for excuses and you can see who is at fault, right?.

Aunty, I know your phone is quite old and you’ve been managing this awful phone for the past few years, and suddenly your baby sister just got a new phone from your parents while you are still stuck with your bad phone, then you feel your parents love you less, please let’s reason this together 🤷‍♀️, but did you ask your parents for a new phone🤦‍♀️?, maybe you felt they’ve known your phone is bad and you’ve been assuming that they’ll get a new one for you. If you are totally guilty of this, you’ve not really gotten a good reason to be pissed. Your parents aren’t mind readers.

Hence forth, if you need or want something, you’ve got to open your mouth as well as your mind, to state exactly what you want, and stop assuming anyone is supposed to know what exactly you’ve been wanting.

Please more people should join me in this end of the year resolution of not always jumping into conclusions unnecessarily.

Hehe😂😂, I hope assumptions would end today , equally , tomorrow is Sunday, hence we shouldn’t forget to expressly ask God for what we want.
