What I deduced from the 2018 World Cup .

Hey sunshine ,

🎶You are my sunshine, my only sunshine 🎵🎶🎤.

Finally, the World Cup is over and, who knew a month could seemingly become a week 🤷(yep the days ran pretty fast, and it seemed more or less like a week to me).

Here, I’ll be sharing few lessons which I deduced from the 2018 World Cup. So therefore ,grab a cup of water 💧, a glass of wine🍷, a cup of juice or whatever you’ll prefer to sip from and make yourself super comfortable while you continue reading.

1. Firstly, I have learnt to stop envisaging on myths or prophecies, but rather, I should should put in hard work.

Mystic Marcus, predicted Belgium, Argentina, Nigeria and Uruguay to make it through the finals during the World Cup.

Well was this 100% accurate?

Hmm, Nope it wasn’t particularly accurate .

When I saw this prediction by the mystic Marcus , I totally believed that it was going to be true, which I equally saw as an answer to Nigerias’ prayers , after all this pig had accurately predicted Trump’s Victory. ( Dear reader, be honest, did you believe this prediction when you saw it too?). Who knows maybe our players had little faith in Mystic Marcus’s prediction . If this pig had predicted Nada, maybe our players might have done better at their match against Croatia.

Oh yes, Achilles the physchic cat predicted Russia’s victory over Saudi Arabia but… (Sealed lips🤐).

2. Everyone has a room to shine at something. Okurrrrr, 👏 👏 👏 give it up for the Nigerian Jersey.

Plix, we had the best Jersey on that field during the World Cup, and if you don’t think so, argue with your eyes 👀 . Yes that commentator during our match with Croatia, made a funny remark about our Jersey being brighter than our game. You see, at least we were shinning at something.

Nike recorded a massive sale of the Nigerian Jersey of over £250 million .

Even our Abba brothers made their own sales too 😂 😂 . Everyone was just buying the jersey like Asoebi.

I bought the vintage version of the Jersey, customised for me alone, just so you know, I’m not regular.

Just take a look at how breath taking some Nigerian celebrities looked in their jersey ;

3. In life, you can’t be in the middle (you are either here or there, you can’t be in the middle) . And I feel so because, I’m yet to meet someone who loves Messi as much as Ronaldo. It’s either you are routing for Messi or it’s Ronaldo. Some think Messi is the GOAT (greatest of all times), while others feel it’s Ronaldo. I’m yet to find someone who supports both of them equally.

From this picture above ☝️, you can guess who I prefer.

4. Over confidence eats up the confidence you have. Just take a look at England. A country with so much prospect lost to Croatia and I believe it was a result of the country’s over confidence. I feel there isn’t anything wrong with being confident when you get overly confident, that becomes a problem. The match between England and Croatia came as a shocker to a lot of us .

It was a painful match for a lot of British people.

5. Whatever you make a competition becomes a competition.

This picture ☝️purports this.

Let’s equally look at the president of Croatia (Kolinda Grabar-kitarović) and the president of France (Emmanuel Macron) .

The president of Croatia celebrated France’s victory equally like her country’s victory. She even shared a kiss with president Macron (so cute) .

I’ll love to know what you deduced from this World Cup in the comment section .

Thanks for reading.

XOXO

I learnt that no matter how I say Nigeria is not for me deep down I love this country. My broken heart when we lost was enough proof
