Should I watch porn?

Hello dear Reader,

// Average reading time would be 3-5 minutes//

I’m excited that you are here today. This isolation period could be a pretty lonely period for you, coupled with the fact that it can be tempting for one to watch pornography at this period.

But I’ll be sharing reasons why porn should be a no-no for you.

/Pornography/
Noun
Printed or visual materials containing the explicit description or display of sexual organs or activity, intended to stimulate sexual excitement.

Porn is and can be very addicting, therefore once you start watching porn it seems almost impossible to stop. I’m guessing at some point in your life, you must have heard Pastors, Imams or religious heads speak against pornography because it is a sin against God.

However, I’ll be sharing non-religious reasons why pornography isn’t something you should watch.

1 Porn is not sex:
As cliché as this sounds, porn is just acting. Dear reader, I want you to know that Porn is a mere performance for the large screen, which is a façade. It does not in any way illustrate what sex originally is like. Like boxing and wrestling, what you see on the screen isn’t to be demonstrated at home.
In reality, I doubt you would be having sex with cameras all around you and with a director telling you to cut the scene or telling you when to continue.

Chemistry does not happen automatically as it is with porn. And undeniably, whatever you see or hear is always being processed into your brain. Which means while watching porn your brain translates that to be what real sex should be like.

Let’s also look at some niche which sex is divided into; Milf, group sex, incest, stepmom and stepson sex, old man and his granddaughter, amputee’s sex, and so on. With its endless list, it is unrealistic to a large extent, except in a few rare instances.

Porn is totally different from sex in every dimension even when it is a case of friends with benefits with your partner.

The downside of porn here is the fact that your brain processes it to be what sex should look like which is all shades of false.

2. Porn Would Mess Up Your Sex Life:
Porn brings about a false expectation of what sex is supposed to be like. In reality, you expect your partner to become a bed gymnast who automatically knows what to do and what not to do. Sex involves loads and lots of communication because no human being ordinarily is a mind reader. Most porn actors do not see the need for lubricants nor do you see them communicating ideally together. All we get to see are two people who already know what to do and who gets into doing the act, without knowing what the aftermath of sex is like.

Couples who watch porn are seen to have way more problems with their sex life than couples who would not. You learn sex through and with your partner and not from the internet teaching you how it should be.

3. Porn Actresses are majorly exploited :
You may think porn is for your pleasure but have you ever wondered how some people decided to indulge in this act for the big screen almost willingly. Majority of these actors were one way lured into this and a lot of them are being exploited. Some sex actors were sold as sex workers and they’ve been compelled to act porn movies. Most of these porn stars get molested on a daily basis.

A lot of porn actors revealed in an interview that quite a number of them do not enjoy what they are doing, plus most of them did not give in their consents before becoming porn actors. Some of this porn we watch also turns out to be revenge porn leaked by people, which is still a form of exploitation.

Watching Porn is more like watching human beings get exploited because most retired porn stars end up having deep feelings of regret and shame after they stop indulging in the business.

In an interview with Mia Khalifa, she revealed that she feels a sense of shame while she is out in public.

The way out

1 First and foremost I’ll love you to follow this page on Instagram because it’s a page where you can learn about the dangers of porn better, and this is equally a non-religious page which talks all about the dangers of porn. https://instagram.com/fightthenewdrug?igshid=9fkwkoyh0yzf

2. I want you to know you are not alone
Talk to someone who you trust so much who can act as an accountability partner, and who can always indulge you in activities to distract you from watching porn.

3. Be determined to stop: If you are not ready to help yourself then no one can help you. You can block your accessibility to porn through your internet browser or you can sleep earlier if you feed on porn at night. I’ll love you to take other disciplinary measures where necessary.

3. I’ll end on the note of prayer. The place of prayer should not be neglected here too because your prayer goes a long way. God sees your heart and he’ll surely help you.

The impact on sexual health is stunning…high school seniors having issues with ED according to research…!! Real life sex can’t compete with the dopamine spikes of constant novelty provided by video porn…which leads to then sexual dissatisfaction, performance issues, and dependence on porn. The research honestly was stunning! I cover it here: https://dchealthtrendsandevidence.com/index.php/2020/05/24/how-porn-is-wrecking-our-sex-lives-and-more-current-evidence/
